Summit Environmental School is a public school in the School District of La Crosse serving 285 students from 4K - 5th grade. Summit is located on French Island between the Black River and the back waters of the Mississippi. The school is on a 10 acre campus with a frog pond, school forest, vegetable garden and natural playscape. The mission of Summit Environmental School is "to provide students with a solid educational foundation in the core academic areas with an environmental focus integrated throughout the curriculum."
