From 1840-1848, the Ho-Chunk Nation was forcibly moved to the "Neutral Ground" in Northeast Iowa. This session will discuss the challenges, successes, lessons learned, and opportunities for continued growth from a 2022 regional interpretive tour focused on the Indigenous presence in Northeast Iowa, including the Neutral Ground period.
